Thanks to the support of the Citi Foundation and the DeAgostini Foundation, the MicroLab Association implemented a programme for Transition from School to Work called “Put yourself to the test: the future is yours!” in collaboration with secondary schools, focusing on aptitude, study courses and career choices.
The aim is to help young people find their way in the employment word, choose the right faculty and the type of work best suited to their skills.
We’ve produced specific videos showing interviews with experts on a variety of subjects to breathe new life into the lessons.
The course covers various themes, including:
- guidance for choosing the right university and job;
- the connection between educational choices and work placement;
- presenting yourself, in person and through your CV;
- the world of the web, social media, and the most evident dynamics that just can’t be ignored;
what exactly is a business, what are the different types, management positions (administration, production, marketing, etc.) and how to get there with a degree;
how to relate to a business: employees, consultants, directors, entrepreneur.
This initiative started for the school year 2016/2017, and around 800 young people took part, taking a course that lasted 30 hours on average in Turin, Novara and Pescara.
We planned courses that lasted from two to ten days at schools, with workshops organised by our lecturers on the basis of Community of learners and gaming principles.
For the school year 2018/2019 we improved our offer by including an interactive digital course.
